Every person alive today, is totally unique. Understanding this drives everything I do as a Health Coach. With a background in Social Work and Teaching, Integrative Nutritional Coaching and Precision Health Coaching, I work with you to help you understand your epigenetic profile. Knowing why and how you respond well to your environment, relationships, the food you eat, when you exercise and what exercise you do, how you think and what your genius is, can be the difference between dynamic shifts in your health and well-being and significant implications on your health over time.
Today you are you, it’s truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you. Dr. Seuss
Born in South Africa, I later moved to a small island off the south coast of England at the age of six. Once my schooling years were behind me, I initially trained as a Nursery Nurse, transitioning to Social Work, before becoming a Teaching Assistant when my children were little. After juggling young children and further study, I started my career in teaching. Years later, after visiting an old school friend in Busselton with my husband and our wo girls. We fell in love with this place and eventually immigrated here in 2004.
Since then, much has happened! Two years after relocating, I was diagnosed with cancer. Despite this, I embraced life fully and continued teaching – a role I cherish – for seven more years. By 2013, I had completed additional training as a Nutritional Coach, inspired by the positive impact of lifestyle changes on my health. For a further seven years, I balanced teaching with part-time work as a Health Coach. By 2020, I transitioned into Health Coaching full-time.
We are fortunate to have innovative organizations enriching our society here in Busselton. My work and life experiences have led to my involvement with one such amazing initiative, the Paperbark Wellness Project and with CANsurvive which provides support to individuals on their cancer journey. Like Sue, I’m dedicated to empowering others in understanding their capabilities, honouring their needs, and seeking support in living fulfilling lives.
I thrive on challenges and recently completed a 3700km solo bike ride from Busselton Jetty to Eucla and back. This endeavour aimed to raise awareness and funds for Brain Cancer Research. At the time, I’d been living with metastatic cancer for twelve years.
Life itself is extraordinary. Whilst the challenges we face can seem dark at the time, they can also reveal an incredible opportunity to live life differently…but we must be open to change, and also willing to see life through a broader lens than perhaps we have before. With this approach, and an open, receptive heart, much is possible.
